For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord... Gen. 18:19
Jesse headed up a group to sing at the Potwin Watermelon Festival on August 20. Dave joined in on the bass, Ben played guitar and harmonica, and Brent and Marcie Entz also helped out with banjo and vocals. Although it took a lot of practice time, I think they all had a great time and hopefully were an encouragement to those who attended.

Out with the old and in with the new. Ethan has been wanting to add another desk to our dining room / office combo, so he thought we ought to replace mine at the same time. I'd had my old desk for about 16 years, so I felt like I was saying goodbye to an old friend.
With both of us now having rolltops though, it will be easier to hide the clutter when we have company. On the other hand, there's less room to put in all the table leaves to stretch our dining table out to its full length of 22 feet.
But we have finally managed for the boys to have their own workstation for their ever growing paperwork. I wanted baskets for each of the boys, but couldn't find a size small enough to fit the shelves, yet big enough to hold an 8 1/2 by 11 paper... so I ended up sewing cubbies instead.
His and her rolltop desks... how romantic. (grin) If you notice, my drawers are labeled and Ethan's are not, even after the many years he's used his desk. He said, "Oh, is that what those are for?" He says he has a good enough memory so he doesn't need labels. I asked if it would make any difference since they all would be labeled MISC anyway. (Truthfully, his memory is better than mine, and he can find what he's looking for with his system as quickly as I can with all my so-called organization!).
Besides, I'm not sure how much the labels will help me since they're only about 1/2" tall - meaning small print for me to try to read. And if I can't read the labels, I'm SURE I won't remember what's in the different drawers for a least a good while yet!
I had an eye appointment last week, and I'm not sure if it's good news or bad - the doctor told me I had gone from having 50 percent ability to focus closeup down to just 20 percent, in an 18 month time. The doctor however, thought that was good since he said I don't have much to lose, my bifocals should now last me a longer time!
